Code Compliance

The Division of Code Compliance is responsible for the enforcement of zoning, housing, and nuisance codes as set forth in the codified ordinances of the City of Sandusky. The division inspects complaints, obtains warrants, and addresses structures and properties which are not in code compliance. In addition, the division is responsible for the Rental Registration & Inspection Program and Transient Rental Program.

What to Do If You Violate a Code
If you receive a letter of violation from the Division of Code Compliance, make sure that the violations are corrected before the indicated date of compliance. If you have problems meeting that compliance date, be sure to contact the Division of Code Compliance to explain the problem and ask for an extension. Failure to correct the violation or receive an extension could subject you to the fines allowed by the ordinance.
