The contractors working on the Perkins Avenue Water Line Replacement and Street Resurfacing Project will be closing the north side of the intersection of Columbus Ave. and Perkins Ave. beginning Monday, October 16 for approximately 3-4 weeks.

Traffic on Perkins Ave. will be maintained throughout the closure. Eastbound traffic on Perkins Ave. will be two lanes, but westbound traffic will be brought down to one lane. (Perkins Ave. between Columbus and Campbell was reopened to westbound traffic on Thursday, October 5).

Northbound traffic on Columbus Ave. coming from Perkins Township will be directed to the left or right turn lanes onto Perkins Ave.

During this closure, detours will be posted. Southbound Columbus Ave. traffic approaching Perkins Ave. will be routed from Columbus Ave. to Parish St. to bypass the intersection.
Crews are closing the intersection to perform critical work on the underground water line main. This work includes unexpected repairs to a water transmission line, as well as the removal of historic streetcar tracks buried under the street. Crews will also complete the installation of the new water line main in this area. The City expects this to be the last significant closure related to the Perkins Ave. project.

More information about the project is available at www.CityofSandusky.com/RoadWork.
